This permit is limited to the duration of the lifting operations associated with the placement of precast panels and other necessary construction on the east wall of the structure located at 130 West Broadway. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve a permit for relief from noise levels set forth in MMC 9.30.040 for Jackson Construction for 350 Ryman, limited to the duration of the lifting operations associated with the placement of precast panels and other necessary construction on the east wall of the structure located at 130 West Broadway. Timeline: Referral to committee: March 15, 2010 Committee discussion: March 17, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: The installation of wall panels on the east wall of the new GLR building located at 350 Ryman requires lifting the large precast concrete wall sections over the adjacent building. As a safety concern the contractor wishes to do the lifts at night when the adjacent building is unoccupied. Although the crane and light units may not exceed the maximum sound level per 9.30.040, Public Works is recommending this as a precaution in case there are any complaints. MMC 9.30.070 allows the City Council or its duly authorized representative to issue this permit. Financial Implications: None Attachments: None
