CONSERVATION LANDS MANAGEMENT PLAN (CLMP) PROCESS Missoula Parks and Recreation Citizen Working Group (Meeting 3) June 3, 2009 6:00 – 8:30 PM (with a light supper at 5:30) City Council Chambers (140 W. Pine St.) Public Comment Period 7:00 – 7:15 PM PROCESS OBJECTIVES 1. Explore aspects of a Management Plan for Missoula’s Conservation Lands. 2. Within the Working Group’s Charter, develop consensus recommendations to Missoula Parks & Recreation Department and the Park Board. SESSION OBJECTIVES 1. Finalize the Collaborative Framework including interests, guiding principles, and important questions. 2. Draft CLMP vision and goals. 3. Take a first cut at guidelines for managing specific categories of Missoula Conservation Lands. 4. Continue the review and discussion of data and “findings" AGENDA ITEMS • Introduction: - Session objectives and agenda review; reminder of sign-in sheet - Homework items; “interests” • Completing the Collaborative Framework - Interests and guiding principles - Important questions • Coming to agreement on the concept of Conservation Lands categories • Organizing the “Plan” - Drafting vision and goals; - First cut at recommended guidelines for managing Conservation Lands categories; needed policies • Data needs • Where do we go from here? - Setting the calendar - Tasks, assignments and homework
