Spring is right around the cor- ner — at least I hope so. With that statement, I would like to remind everyone that for spring cleanup, the Town of Minden offers use of our residen- tial dumpsters up to twice a year at no charge. If you have a need for one, please call the Town office and have your dumpster reserved. Also, remember the extra trash pickup during your third trash day of the month— another great resource when cleaning house! Time to Talk Trash! Trash Collection Begins at 6:00 a.m. Even if your neighbor- hood is typically picked up later, PLEASE HAVE YOUR TRASH CANS OUT BY 6:00 A.M. There are occasions when the route is altered and your area may be the first on the schedule that day. TOWN OF MINDEN With the coming of the spring and summer months ahead, let’s all be good stewards of our water through conservation. While keeping our lawns and gardens green and colorful with sufficient water, remember that sidewalks and gutters don’t grow, so try not to overwater them. The Town Board along with the Town Manager is in the proc- ess of forming the yearly budget for the Town. The Town is also in the exciting planning stage of creating a Minden film festival to take place in the September time- frame. This eliminates overwatering and reduces excess evaporation Use a few inches of mulch in the garden and around trees to help reduce the amount of water needed to keep your soil moist. When planting your garden, group plants by their watering needs.
