Chairman’s Corner: Autumn is in the air which brings Fall clean up. Dumpsters from the Town are available, but you need to contact the Town to have one delivered. Please remember they are first come first serve and are complimentary only twice a year. I hope eve- ryone had a great Summer and had time to enjoy the concerts in the park along with the 4th of July bike parade and Bar B-Q. Farmers market is coming to a close; there are only a few more Tuesday's left so don't miss out. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve as chairman this year. I would like to thank the Board for bestowing that honor on me. A reminder that the Town meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month; we would like to see you and hear your input on Town matters. Kids can bring in a can food donation to receive a goodie bag. One lucky child will receive a golden ticket in their goodie bag and will help Santa Light the Gazebo! Starting at 5:00pm with Gazebo Lighting at 6:00pm December 3rd “Lucky to Live Here” CV Chamber’s 21st Annual Parade of Lights Ends in Downtown Minden. Fire-pits, Craft Faire and Entertainment. It is my pleasure to announce the final block of County Road Streetscape improvements is complete. If you haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy a stroll along the meandering sidewalk there, please do. Also we received word from the Record Courier that the CVIC Hall was voted best place to have an event. It is reward‐ ing to know that our beauƟful historic hall has become a part of so many Minden memories. Finally, every year during this season I like to take a moment to reflect on those things for which I am most grateful. This fall is especially meaningful to me because it marks my fiŌh consecuƟve year as Town Manager. It conƟnues to be my honor and privilege to work with the Town’s tremendously talented Staff on behalf of the Town Board and residents. I cannot begin to describe the impact this wonderful community has had on my life both profes‐ sionally and personally. From the boƩom of my heart, I thank you. ‐ Jenifer Davidson No trash pickup on Thanksgiving Day. Residents with Thursday trash pickup need to put it out the day before by 6:00am. No green waste pickup the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. NO TRASH IN YOUR GREEN WASTE CAN. All cans need to be out by 6:00am the day of pickup. Feel free to put your address on your cans to help keep track of them if it gets too windy and they take a trip down the street. Extra Trash is your third trash pickup of the month. It must be bagged or bundled up off to the side of your can. Please do not overfill cans. Cans that are too heavy will be tagged and not picked up. We live in such a giving and caring com‐ munity. Anyone who has parƟcipated in the Channel 2 Share Your Christmas Drive‐ By Food Drive knows that our valley is excepƟonal. The Town of Minden wants to help our residents be a part of this great event from the convenience of your own home! The week of December 9th, put your food donaƟons out by your trash can on your regularly scheduled trash day by 6:00 am and we will drive by to collect it. You can also drop your donaƟons off to our AdministraƟve Office. Last year, the Town of Minden along side Douglas Disposal and the Town of Gardnerville were able to col‐ lect 11,012 lbs of food & raise $417.00. Let’s beat last year! Cold Weather is on it’s way! Don’t forget to winterize your pipes! The Town is currently looking at rebuilding our website. All agenda items will be post‐ ed on the Douglas County Website under the Town of Minden.
