DOUGLAS COUNTY (NV) invites applications for the position of: Minden Town Advisory Board Member SALARY: $500.00 OPENING DATE: 03/07/2019 CLOSING DATE: 03/21/2019 04:00 PM DESCRIPTION: MINDEN TOWN ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER 1 POSITION (Elected Official) The Minden Town Advisory Board has a vacancy effective February 21, 2019. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners will appoint a new Minden Town Advisory Board member to fill a four-year term during a regularly scheduled meeting. The requirements for the vacated advisory/elected office of Minden Town Advisory Board are:  Must be an actual resident of Douglas County 30 days prior to appointment;  Must be a registered voter in the State of Nevada;  Must be a qualified elector pursuant to Section 1 of Article 2 of the Constitution of the State of Nevada;  Must be a resident of the Town of Minden (please refer to Town boundary map);  Must be 18 years of age;  Must be a citizen of the United States. Background Information: The Douglas County Board of Commissioners approved a process to fill the vacancy which results in the departure of a Town Board Member during their current term utilizing the following procedure: 1) Staff will call for applications to fill the vacancy. Interested individuals will be asked to submit an application, a resume and letter of interest to the Town of Minden Administrative Offices. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2) The list of qualified applicants will be provided to the Minden Town Board and the Public for review at a special meeting of the Minden Town Board in March of 2019. 3) Any action to vet applicants, allow applicants to present or be interviewed will be done during an open meeting. 4) The Town Board is not required to interview each of the applicants and may choose to narrow the list at any point during an open meeting. 5) Final action may be taken by the Town Board during an open meeting to recommend up to three names to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration for final appointment. 6) The County Commission will then make the final appointment to the Minden Town Board at an open meeting. Salary & Benefits – Minden Town Advisory Board salary is set by the Advisory Board and NRS 245.043 at $500 per month.
