WINTER 2015-2016 The Town of Minden Newsletter Chairman’s Chatter: It is an honor and a privilege to be selected to succeed outgoing Chair- woman Roxanne Stangle by my fellow Board members as Chairman of the Minden Town Board for 2016. My sincere thanks to Board Mem- ber Stangle, for her leadership and dedication this past year. Once again, it has been a very busy and productive year in the Town of Minden. We welcomed new member Bill Souligny to the Town Board; we dedicated the streetscape improvements in the right-of-way portion of the Minden Gateway Center; we worked with Town Staff to bring exciting new features to Town Events and saw attendance num- bers at those events soar to record levels; and finally, the Towns of Minden and Gardnerville were voted by the readers of Nevada Maga- zine as the favorite Nevada Town. 2015 truly has been a remarkable year and 2016 will be even better! Reminder: the Town Board Meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month and your participation is appreciated; we want to hear from you. With that said, I hope everybody has a Merry Christmas and I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. -John Stephans HOLIDAY TRASH SCHEDULE No green waste pickup the week of Christmas or New Years. Do not shovel the snow into the street. The Town will only plow the streets if there is accumulation of at least 4” on the ground with a projection of more to come within the next 12 hours. The roads are plowed to the middle of most streets. This is to prevent large berms from accumulating in front of sidewalks and driveways. The complete snow policy is available from the Town Office as well as on the website at www.townofminden.com.
