Minden and Gardnerville Plan for Prosperity High‐Level Issues and Strategies Workshop August 30, 2018 – 10:00 a.m. Location: Town of Minden CVIC Hall, 1604 Esmeralda, Minden, NV 89423 The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to review and discuss growth management, downtown revitalization, resilience, and neighborhood design issues and strategies. The high‐level issues and strategies have emerged from an inclusive process including two community workshops, three Community Advisory Committee meetings, and study sessions with Minden and Gardnerville Town Boards. The workshop has three main objectives: Review high‐level issues and strategies; Provide participants the opportunity to discuss their merits and how they interrelate; and Comment on key concepts and implementation strategies. A Briefing Summary has been prepared that addresses four overall issues that have emerged form the community process. These include: How will the Towns provide for their growth and those areas they serve? How can the main street districts maintain their essential role as cultural and commercial centers for Carson Valley? How can the towns work with their partners to coordinate investment that improves the quality of life? How can new investment reflect the Towns’ design character aspirations? The meeting will include a summary presentation by the Town’s consultant, Bruce Race from RACESTUDIO, tabletop review and discussion in teams, and tam presentations and summary. The input will be included in the draft plan to be presented in the fall of 2018.
