Chairman’s Corner Well, summer is coming to an end, and it was a busy summer for our awesome liƩle town. Concerts in the park, compleƟon and opening of the Seeman Ranch Park, compleƟon of the MarƟn Slough Trail, weddings, and many other events in the Minden Park, and of course our ever‐popular splash pad. I want to thank our town residents for their paƟence as we install new water mains throughout the town, which is part of our ongoing water system maintenance. We sƟll have some projects we hope to complete before winter seƩles in. They include the installaƟon of a pavilion and splash pad in our Westwood Park as well as street rehab and resurfacing in Winhaven. Don’t forget our holiday events which include the lighƟng of the Minden Park gazebo and the Chamber of Commerce Parade of Lights. Bears are part of our environment and community, so please be “Bear Aware”. We have some bear resistant garbage cans available, (at a cost). If you are interested contact the Town Office for informaƟon. Unfortunately, we have experienced some vandalism at some of our park faciliƟes. If you see something concerning, please contact the Town Office without delay. If you have a smartphone with a camera, please take a quick picture. If you witness vandalism, please call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Thank you for helping us keep our com‐ munity beauƟful! Residents with Thursday trash pickup need to put their trash out the day before by 6:00am. Thursday, December 8th will be the last yard waste pickup day! Yard Waste Program will pick back up in March 2023. In the mean Ɵme, it would be helpful to write your address number on your trash lid. This can also help with a lost or stolen can. Cold weather is on its way! Don’t forget to winterize your pipes! Be Bear Aware! Due to an increase in bear acƟvity the Town purchased 10 bear proof trash cans. There are only two cans leŌ, but we have a request to purchase more. Although on back order, if you are interested in geƫng one, or geƫng on the waiƟng list call the office at 775‐782‐5976. Christmas Kickoff December 2 & 3 Downtown Minden!
