Music presentations include performances by the Carson Val- ley Pops Orchestra and the Carson Valley Arts Council. In addition, theater pro- ductions are presented by the Carson Valley Community Theater and the an- nual Art Show by Carson Valley Arts As- sociation . May also marks the beginning of the Concert in the Park series and the return of the Downtown Farmer’s Mar- ket. Mark your calendar for the sixth annual Carson Valley Days Breakfast, and start your celebration with complimentary breakfast served by Board Members and our outstanding Minden staff. The Town is presently engaged in renova- tions of the historic gazebo and CVIC Hall. These “jewels” are focal points for residents and as such we are committed to keep them looking their best. The gazebo will undergo some structural rein- forcement, but the traditional look and feel of it will remain the same. The CVIC Hall will also receive some much needed new equipment along with some changes to the décor and restrooms all while preserving its historic sense of style. With the early arrival of Daylight Sav- ings Time, many of our residents will be looking forward to Spring cleaning, make sure to check out our trash infor- mation section for your clean up op- tions. We hope you enjoy the upcoming warm weather and we look forward to watch- ing our community blossom. ~Bill Souligny 2017 TOWN BOARD Bill Souligny, Chairman [EMAIL REDACTED] Matt Bernard. We hope to have this fixed as soon as possible. The Minden Park planters are getting a fresh new look this year. The Town is working on alley water line replacements in various areas within Town. This should be wrapped up in early spring. Take a walk! Did you know that walking around Minden Park 5 times equals a mile? ---PAGE BREAK--- Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this pilot program. Hope- fully the result will be a better trash service for all. —Jenifer Davidson In addition Town Staff are compiling feedback from program participants. This feedback will help the Board to determine if a recycling program will be desirable, cost effective and feasi- ble in Minden. If you have thoughts regarding the recycling program, we want to hear from you! Please do not hesitate to contact the Town of Minden Admin- istrative Office. In addition because the Town was not able to offer the pilot program to all residents, the Town has also set up a recycle collec- tion site at the Town of Minden Pub- lic Works Yard located at 1330 Buck- eye Road. This site will be open for use Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 5:00pm (closed for holi- days). Among the goals adopted by the Board in 2016 was to “Investigate, explore and evaluate the possibility of imple- menting a trash recycling program in Minden.” In furtherance of this goal, the Town implemented a curbside recycling pro- gram, in coordination with the Town of Gardnerville and Douglas Disposal in select neighborhoods of the Town of Minden beginning in March and run- ning through June. The pilot provides single stream recycling service at no ad- ditional charge to 140-150 customers. During this time, Town Staff will collect data regarding the total volume of recy- clable materials generated by the sample group and the overall cost of the service.
