Chairwoman’s Corner Spring is almost here! As spring arrives and yard cleanup begins remember that green waste pickup will again be on Thursdays. The Town also offers our dumpster program for those bigger projects. Contact out staff for more information. Long term Board member Matt Bernard left us in December. We will sincerely miss his commitment, dedicated service and friendship. We all wish him well in future endeavors. We have a new member on the Board, we would like to introduce you to Bryan Davis. Bryan comes with a lot of experience and knowledge and we are all looking forward to working with him. I know he will contribute in keeping Minden a great place. Spring brings out many activities in the Town of Minden. We are hoping that the concerts will return in May as well as The Farmers Market on Tuesday evenings. We are really looking forward to our annual Carson Valley Days breakfast which we hope will be held in June as we celebrate Carson Valley Days! The Yard Waste program has resumed for Thursday pickups. Please have your cans out by 6:00am As a reminder the Town Offices will be closed on Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day. ---PAGE BREAK--- StarƟng in April the Town will begin issuing a trash audit. You may receive a leƩer in regards to your cans. If you are unsure of how many cans you are paying for please call the office. Trash Tips (excludes The Ranch of Gardnerville) Please allow 3 feet between cans. Extra Trash Day is your third trash pickup of the month. Please bag or bundle it. Friendly Reminders Please do not put trash or bags in your yard waste can. Please have cans out on trash & yard waste days by 6:00 am each week. If your trash day falls on a holiday, cans will be picked up the day before. to get added to the list. We can’t promise a date but we do our best to accommodate. Wait times may vary depending on the season. No hazardous materials or tires will be accepted. Residential Dumpsters The Town will need your updated residential dumpster liability form if you haven’t filled one out in the last 5 years. Residents are able to participate in this first come first serve program twice a year for free. Please call us The weather is geƫng warmer and it’s almost Ɵme to turn on your irrigaƟon. Be sure to double check your lines and keep an eye out for any leaks that may have happened over winter. Find us on Social Media: Water conservaƟon is something we can all parƟcipate in. Although the Town does not currently enforce limited water use, we do ask all residents to be mindful to not waste water. Avoid watering your yard and outdoor plants between the hours of 10 am and 6pm to help reduce evaporaƟon. Be aware not to have pooling or running water on sidewalks and driveways. As a friendly reminder, please stay out of the water meter pits, as this may cause damage to the equipment. If you have a water related emergency and need your water turned off, please call the Town Office at 775‐782 ‐5976 or Dispatch at 775‐782‐5126. If you have not paid for your water meter yet, we are giving everyone the opportunity to sign up for a contract to have smaller installments added to your regular quarterly billing.
