2018/2019 2019 Town Board The Town of Minden WINTER NEWSLETTER CHAIRMAN’S CORNER It is an honor and a privilege to be selected as Chairman of the Minden Town Board for 2019 to succeed outgoing Chair‐ man Matt Bernard by my fellow Board Members. My sincere thanks to Board Member Bernard for his leadership and dedi‐ cation this past year. I am excited and energized by what the new year brings with its challenges, events and projects. Once again, it has been a very busy and productive year in the Town of Minden. We welcome new Member Bill Driscoll to the Town Board and I would like to thank Mr. Souligny for his 4 years of service to the Town of Minden residents. As usual, Town Staff did an excellent job of decorating the Town and the Gazebo in Minden Park for the Holidays. Best wishes for the New Year! Chairman Glen Radtke Changes to Trash Service Effective January 1, 2019 At the December 5th, 2018 Minden Town Board Meeting, the Town Board approved suspension of the Yard Waste Program for December thru February of each year starting on January 1 st, 2019 in an effort to reduce costs. This suspension will not change your trash rate as the program is free to residents. Yard waste will continue through the 20 th of December and will not be picked up the week of Christmas. Residents can still utilize the Town’s residential dumpster, extra trash and Christmas tree recycling programs during these three months each year. This year the Town will provide an additional Extra Trash pickup the week of Christmas, and Christmas tree pickup will be on December 28 th and January 5 th. Please have your trees curbside by 6:00am. If you have any questions or concerns please call the Town’s Administrative Office at (775) 782-5976. Do not shovel snow into the street. Put it on your grass for a little more moisture when it melts! The Town will only plow the streets if there is accumulation of at least 4” on the ground with a projec- tion of more to come within the next 12 hours. The roads are plowed to the middle of most streets. This is to prevent large berms from accumulating in front of sidewalks and driveways. The complete snow policy is available from the Town Office as well as on the website at www.townofminden.com. ---PAGE BREAK--- HOLIDAY TRASH SCHEDULE & INFORMATION (Excluding the Ranch @ Gardnerville) NO YARD WASTE pickup the week of Christmas.
