Fall is approaching which means winter is not far behind. Re- member that for fall cleanup pro- jects, dumpsters are available. If you need one please contact the Town office and make arrange- ments to have it delivered to your house as soon as one is available. Also, extra trash is collected on your third trash day of the month. This past summer the Town has had many projects going on which include the construction of a water tank and water lines to supply water to the North Valley and Carson City. We have also constructed a new maintenance facility off of Buckeye Road that will be completed by the end of September. We will be hosting an open house in November and all residences will be invited to view the new facility. The Town is in the process of searching for a Town manager and will hopefully complete the process by November. With winter around the corner, I would like to remind everyone of some of the upcoming annual events that are scheduled. For more infor- mation please go to the Town’s web site — and of course do stop by the Town office and say hello to the Town Staff while you enjoy a cup of coffee made with the best water in not only the State but in all the west. The Town staff and the Town Board are here to serve the people of Minden, and we welcome your comments and suggestions. That is how we know what is going right and what we need to do to im- prove. Enjoy what is left of sum- mer and have a great fall and safe winter. —John Stephans Chairman’s Chatter The CVIC Hall is turning 100 in October of 2012, and the Town of Minden is hosting a year-long celebration with various events from September 2011 until the big bash in October of 2012. This causes di- lemmas for the street sweeper, major drainage issues, and potential conflicts with your neighbors.
