Millcreek Job Posting ASSISTANT TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR Hiring Range: $24.00/Hour - $30.00/Hour Highly Competitive Benefit Package Posted: November 7, 2018 Posting Closes: November 21, 2018 JOB SUMMARY Under direction of the Economic Development Director, the Assistant to the Economic Development Director will provide highly responsible and complex administrative support. POSITION(S) SUPERVISED This position has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Meet performance standards established with the employee’s supervisor. 2. Prepare presentations, draft letters and periodic financial reports. 3. Schedule and organize meetings and conferences for Economic Development Director. 4. Assemble information and create various reports as needed. 5. Attend meetings, prepare letters, reports, memos, minutes, or other general correspondence. 6. Create and maintain filing system for Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) documents and other department files. 7. Assist with communication outreach to area business leaders as needed. 8. Represent the Economic Development Department at intergovernmental meetings as needed. 9. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education and Experience: a. Associates Degree or two years of educational training beyond high school from a regionally accredited college or university with course work in business, accounting, office administration or a closely related field (Required). ---PAGE BREAK--- b. Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, management, marketing or a closely related field (Preferred). c. Requires at least two years of highly responsible administrative support experience. 2. Special Qualifications: a. Valid Utah Class D Driver’s License required. 3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: a. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft products; b. Skill in word processing, spreadsheets, office machine usage and general computer operation; c. Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; of grammar, spelling and punctuation; of modern filing systems related to alphabetical and numeric files; d. Working knowledge of administrative procedures; of legal processes associated with the maintenance of public records and documents; e. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing; f. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information; g. Excellent organizational skills; h. Ability to interact with elected officials, the public, City stakeholders, and administrative staff in a professional manner; i. Ability to answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner; j. Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and to act resourcefully under varying conditions; k. Willingness and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Light physical effort and usually comfortable working positions. May be required to travel outside City boundaries to attend meetings. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5.
