Visit our Community Calendar MILLCREEK. One of the City's major goals since incorporation has been to take over the processing of land use applications. Meet Francis Lilly, Ashley Cleveland, and Rob May, the trio of folks who have undertaken the job. The County no longer performs those tasks for us. If want to apply to rezone or subdivide property in Millcreek, or obtain a permit that is required so you can use your property in some particular way, come see our great new team in our new temporary office at 3330 So. 13th E. Francis is our Planning Director. He worked for South Salt Lake City for a number of years in a similar capacity. We are VERY lucky to have him. Francis’s favorite quote: “No matter where you go, there you are." - Buckaroo Banzai Rob May, Francis Lilly, and Ashley Cleveland comprise Millcreek's new planning department. A recent graduate of the University of Utah's City & Metropolitan Planning graduate program, Ashley comes to us from the Salt Lake County Mayor's Office. She is a new mom (congrats!), and a lover of community engagement, urbanism, and green living. Her favorite quote: "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not" -The Lorax Rob's friends call him "Rob". He has lived in Millcreek for almost 15 years. He enjoys the outdoors and playing with his dog. His favorite quote: "Talk low, talk slow, and don't talk too much." - John Wayne. Soon we be able to issue building permits and be doing our own code enforcement. MILLCREEK. We are still working on fully staffing our Planning and Development Services department. Please complete our most recent survey to share your feedback into these statements: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3960507/ Millcreek-Visioning TOSS-IT OR FIX-IT ON SATURDAY Join the in celebrating America Recycles Day, tomorrow, Saturday, November 18, from 8AM to noon, at the west side of Cottonwood Ball Complex (4250 S 11th Come drop off your large & bulky waste, general recycling items, landscaping waste (no sod or dirt), and glass recycling. They will also have equipment for secure document shredding and prescription disposal. But the landfill doesn't charge to dispose of household hazardous waste. It's just a tad further to drive. (The landfill even has a free paint exchange program). More information on these items can be found at: http://slco.org/health/household-hazardous-waste/. The landfill is located at 6030 West California Avenue (1300 South). It's open Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM. The phone number is [PHONE REDACTED]. Also on Saturday, from 11AM-2PM, the Utah Recycling Alliance will be hosting a Fix-it-Clinic to help repair broken items and avoid throwing away fixable stuff. Tickets are $12.95, but are free to the first 40 participants who show up at the Leonardo museum with a broken item. The Leonardo is at 209 East 500 South in Salt Lake City.
