1 Job Announcement Promise Education Intern Closes: Tuesday, June 18, 2024 Status: Part-time (Up to 20 hours a week) Non-Exempt, Non-Benefitted Hourly Wage: $19.00 Under the direction of the Promise Program Manager, the Promise Education Intern is responsible for facilitating meetings, engaging stakeholders, and tracking data as necessary for the education promise of the Promise Program. Education Promise: All Millcreek youth have the support to maximize academic success on their path to high school graduation and post-secondary education. POSITION(S) SUPERVISED: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Build relationships with school personnel in Millcreek. 2. Participate in partnership meetings with school principals. 3. Facilitate the Promise Education Committee within Collective Impact and Results-Based Accountability frameworks. 4. Manage volunteers for direct-service programming and other events. 5. Manage action items put forth by the committee. 6. Oversee child supervision volunteer program one day a week. 7. Support after-school programs in Millcreek. 8. Attend and support occasional Promise events. 9. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education and Experience: a. Must have associate’s degree or equivalent (two years of college completed). b. Service-oriented experience is a plus. 2. Special Qualifications: a. Valid Utah Class D Driver’s License required. b. Passion for wanting to improve the lives of others. c. Community minded. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing (i.e. by phone, email, text, and in-person). WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Light physical effort and usually comfortable working positions. Local travel may be required to attend meetings, run errands, etc. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5.
