1 Job Announcement Adventure Hub Zamboni Driver Opens: Wednesday, December 14, 2022 Closes: Open until filled Will begin reviewing applications on 12/16/2022 Status: Part-Time, Seasonal (up to 20 hours per week, evening shifts) Non-Exempt, Non-Benefitted Hourly Wage: $20.00 Under the direction of the Community Life Senior Manager, the Adventure Hub Zamboni Driver provides retail recreation services in the form of operating the Zamboni to resurface ice and other ice related functions for ice skating operations at Millcreek Common Plaza. Incumbent carries out all aspects of day-to-day operations of ice resurfacing, equipment maintenance and snow removal on the Plaza. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Meet performance standards established with the employee’s supervisor. 2. Drive Zamboni ice resurfacer and operate other ice related equipment including power edger, shovels, picks, squeegee and other hand or power tools. 3. Assist in snow removal on the Plaza. 4. Respond to/resolve operational and equipment issues. 5. Facilitate adequate performance of day-to-day contractor-provided services. 6. Maintain good relations and communication with the general public. 7. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Experience: a. Must be at least 18 years of age. b. Previous operation of an ice resurfacer preferred. c. Previous experience with ice maintenance preferred. d. Valid Utah Driver’s License required. 2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: a. Attributes for providing good customer service. b. Friendly interaction with public, even under stressful situations. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 c. Ability to use good judgement. d. Ability to make and keep good working relationships with co-workers. e. Ability to operate a personal computer, tablet, and/or sales transaction devices. Competency using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). f. Competency in communicating clearly in English with City personnel and the public, both verbally and sometimes in writing. g. Ability to follow instructions well. h. Ability to perform well as part of a team and share workload with co-workers. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed in a mixed environment of standard office and outdoors on-venue at Millcreek Common Plaza. Incumbent should be able to lift 50 lbs. and handle more weight with assistance of logistics equipment. The nature of community recreation and events requires the incumbent to work outside of traditional work-week hours and days. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in transitional settings between operating equipment, sitting at workstation, standing at customer service counter, to on the move outdoors in the recreation space, and to often stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs., to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5. Attendance: The Adventure Hub is the employee’s headquarters and primary location for work.
