Millcreek has a number of floodplains, along Millcreek, Big Cottonwood Creek, and in the Neff’s Creek debris flow area. The purpose of the Floodplain Hazards Mitigation Chapter is to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare by minimizing losses due to flooding. This chapter enables residents to obtain flood insurance. B. What Changed. o Changes were limited to updating terminology, syntax, and code references, and updating the format to make the chapter consistent with the rest of the revised code. C. What Remained the Same. o The substance of revised Floodplain Hazards Mitigation Chapter is identical to the current ordinance. D. Rationale for Changes. Changes were limited to technical and syntax corrections. In order to remain compliant with FEMA standards and federal law, the substance of the chapter did not change.
