Produced in partnership with Utah’s Refugee Services Office and Venture Out!, the World Refugee Day Festival is a two-day multicultural event celebrating the cultures, food, dance and artistic flavors of the countries our local refugee communities come from. Admission to the festival is free for all attendees. The event includes cultural performing arts, a global market with items for sale from countries around the world, traditional ethnic food available for purchase, and many other fun activities and events for families to enjoy! Utah’s refugee communities will showcase cultural dance, song, poetry and fashion that will display their continued cultural traditions and intersection with American culture. Refugee vendors will be presenting for sale goods made by members from their country of origin, or by refugees in countries overseas. This event provides vendors an opportunity introduce the colorful and vibrant materials from around the world to the fabric of Utah and gain valuable business experience as entrepreneurs. In partnership with the International Rescue Committee’s Spice Kitchen Incubator program, refugee food entrepreneurs will be offering culturally authentic food for purchase. These vendors are able to learn hands-on skills needed to achieve their entrepreneurship dreams, while providing an opportunity for the public to taste food from all parts of the globe. All proceeds generated by the sale of food at the festival goes back to the entrepreneurs and is used to support their goal of owning their own catering or restaurant business. ---PAGE BREAK--- 6/17/2019 COME AND CELEBRATE UTAH'S REFUGEE COMMUNITY AT THE WORLD REFUGEE DAY FESTIVAL 3/12 The 15th Annual World Refugee Day celebration will be held on Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd at Big Cottonwood Regional Park (4300 S 1300 E, Millcreek, UT 84124).
