1 Job Announcement Community Life Event Production Manager Opens: Tuesday, October 18, 2022 Closes: Open until filled Will begin reviewing applications on 10/21/2022 Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Hiring Range: $23.00—$25.00 per hour Competitive Benefits Package—see page 6-7 Under the direction of the Millcreek Common Executive Director, the Community Life Event Production Manager provides production support to realize day-to-day programming at the Millcreek Common Plaza, and city-wide, seasonal, and special events. Incumbent will be cross trained to assist, as required, facility support services, and as a shift supervisor for Adventure Hub Skating Operations. Meet performance standards established with the employee’s supervisor. 2. Manage the pace and staffing resources for event preparations and event day. 3. Determine and prepare all manner of resources necessary to realize planned events (manage procurement, maintenance, and replacement, etc.). 4. Oversee event-day operations management duties from start to finish, including set-up, take-down, issue escalation, response, and remedy. 5. Interface with event clientele on-site on event day. 6. Oversee the performance of providers who contract for event services. 7. Share post-event reporting duties and analysis for client communications and improvements to policy and practices. 8. Assist event planning and event sales colleagues to actualize community life and revenue through event programming. 9. Assist in the coordination of participation of vendors and event partners. 10. Assist the engagement of volunteer groups to help staff events. 11. Assist with Millcreek Common venue tours for client partnerships and planning purposes. 12. Cross-train to support site services such as skating surface and pavement maintenance, splash pad, waste removal, ice management, irrigation systems, care for vegetation, site signage, snow removal, etc. 14. Cross-train for occasional Adventure Hub shift supervisory role ensuring successful rental shop, customer service and skate loop operations to be carried out by the Adventure Hub team. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education and Experience: a. Graduation from high school or GED. b. Two or more years with at least one of last three years’ experience in event planning and/or support. 2. Special Qualifications: a. Must be at least 21 years of age. b. Valid Utah Class D Driver’s License required. c. Experience operating Zamboni and other ice equipment preferred. d. Pool or other aquatic technician certification preferred. e. OSHA First Aid Certification preferred. 3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: a. Ability to safely operate basic power tools, cleaning, and motorized groundskeeping equipment. b. Ability to safely operate small site vehicles such as golf cart or equivalent. c. Knowledge of principles for providing high-level customer service. d. Ability to use tact and diplomacy under stressful situations associated with public interaction. e. Ability to make decisions and use good judgement. f. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, other departments and the public. g. Ability to operate a personal computer and competency using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). h. Competency in communicating clearly and concisely with City personnel and the public both orally and in writing. i. Ability to reliably model established conduct, processes, and policies. j. Ability to share workload with collaborators. k. Ability and willingness to train and transfer knowledge to colleagues, subordinates, volunteers, and contractors for successful delivery and group satisfaction. l. Ability to operate and lead self-sufficiently, without the support of City headquarters outside City business hours. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed in a mixed environment of standard office and outdoors on-venue at Millcreek Common Plaza. Incumbent should be able to lift 50 lbs. and handle more weight with assistance of logistics ---PAGE BREAK--- 3 equipment. The nature of community recreation and events requires the incumbent to work outside of traditional hours and work-week. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in transitional settings between sitting at workstation, to standing at customer service counter, to on the move outdoors in the recreation space, and to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5. Attendance: The Adventure Hub is the employee’s headquarter and primary location for work.
