MOUNT OLYMPUS COMMUNITY COUNCIL Churchill Jr. High School December 6, 2016 - 7:00 PM Pledge of Allegiance Introduction of Council Members In Attendance: Jeff Silvestrini, Joan Haven, David Baird, Chuck Pruitt, Kumar Shah, Pasu Pasupathi, Ken Smith, John Knoblock (minutes), and Joy Goddard Minutes: Minutes from the May 17, 2016 meeting were approved. Reports: UFA- Rob Ayers, Wild Land Fire Specialist The new Fire Chief is Dan Petersen. Millcreek will now have 15 people working at the three fire stations. UPD- Det. Ronnie Prescott Millcreek held their annual holiday party. Millcreek City updates- Jeff Silvestrini A new Millcreek Planning Commission is being formed. A new City website is being started- Millcreek.UT.org The community councils will still have their own linked web pages. Class C road funds should be received in January. Rita Lund may still be available for administrative support. $1.5M funding for City startup should come in January. Routine sales tax revenue should come in June. January 3 is the Millcreek City officials’ inauguration ceremony. Business- We voted in new MOCC Officers: David Baird- Chairman, Ken Smith- Vice Chair, Joan Haven- Treasurer. We will continue to rotate meeting minutes. Joan discussed the advice that SLCo planners gave on not requiring a permit for building a pergola for solar collectors and however the electric utilities company required a permit. We discussed the SLCo Planning Commission and noted that they still often do not consider Community Council input. Millcreek City should improve the process. Bev Uipi will meet with the Wasatch JH principal concerning traffic on Upland Drive and traffic issues with Skyline and Upland Terrace schools. Meeting Adjourned at 8:45 pm.
