Mt. Olympus Community Council Meeting Minutes February 21, 2017 7:00pm Attending: David B. (Chairman), Ken Pasu Kumar Charles Bill John Richard W. G. Excused: Joan H. Reports: No Reports Given Business: - Meeting Minutes approved from last MOCC meeting – 1 small typo change recommended. - Dave B. asked for any updates from the Council- the following was given: John K. mentioned the following – County will make improvements to the Mt. Olympus Trailhead starting in Spring. New Bike lane up Millcreek Canyon will be coming in Spring as well. Mountain Accord officially on hold until funds are approved by the Legislature. Made us aware of the 90 Million Dollar Parks and Recreation Bond that will be used to enhance existing areas, and for New Builds – mostly areas out South and West. Kumar mentioned the following- He attended the General Planning Meeting. The Planning Committee that has been formed will operate for about 1 year, they will start setting a timeline to move forward and get things done with regards to the Millcreek City General Plan. Millcreek City has applied for a grant to help with costs for creating a General Plan. Business Discussion Items: - MOCC Bylaws Ammendments for extending Term Limits of expired MOCC members from last Fall were discussed- it was decided that the MOCC members that would have expired in Fall 2016 are rolled out to serve another 4 years- will run for re-election in 2020 if desired. Other half of the MOCC members term limits are up in 2018 and will re-run if desired. Motion to amend bylaws to reflect this action was made by John K, Bill Blatter seconded the motion and all MOCC members were in favor. ---PAGE BREAK--- With regards to the new members, Bill Blatter will run for re-election in 2018, Richard Williamson will run for re-election in 2020. Kumar made this motion, John K. seconded. - Community Council priorities for New Projects to request from Millcreek City were discussed and the following list has been created. Fortuna Park Improvements Wasatch Blvd. beautification Millcreek Canyon Bike Lane Neff’s Canyon Parking Lot Wasatch Blvd. North trailhead Suicide Rock Area Ammenities Bonneville Shoreline Trail Please note that additional projects from previous lists will be looked up and added, as well as the above list will remain ongoing,- can be added to at any time.
