The existing screen is aging, and needs to be traded in before it fails to the disappointment of the more than 500 people who generally attend these events. Venture Out Movie Nights are an important part of Millcreek's community building. Held at rotating locations every Friday evening throughout the summer, this event brings neighbors together, and provides a platform for local musicians, artists, craftsmen, and vendors to gain exposure and interact with our community. People sign up for neighborhood watch, community emergency response teams, CPR classes and other volunteer activities. They learn about the services our local government offers and meet the people who perform them. Each evening is capped with a family-friendly second- or third-run movie, shown on our inflatable (now aging) movie screen. The Council has determined that to preserve the valued tradition of Venture Outdoor Movie Nights, the existing screen needs to be replaced. One vendor has offered a substantial discount on a new screen, but the offer is time-sensitive. The Council has opened up the bidding for others to submit their best quotes, but the purchase will need to be made now. You can find the complete RFP here. WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT. The second RFP requests submission of proposals to develop a professional website for the City. The Council envisions a simple website at the outset, but one that can be broadly expanded from time to time as we grow. Eventually, online applications for a variety of services will be available. You can find the complete RFP here.
