January 2025 Millcreek Together Code Update I 18.67 Clear View Areas Summary Sheet Chapter 18.67 Clear View Areas Summary A. Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to establish standards to maintain a clear view area at the intersection of every street and at the intersection of every driveway with a street, in order to provide adequate vision of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. B. What Changed. o In the current code, clear view requirements are found in the Fencing Chapter, Supplementary Regulations Chapter, and in our Engineering Standards. For clarity, staff proposes moving these standards into one chapter that applies to any potential obstruction in a clear view area. o Images were revised and added to supplement and illustrate the requirements for clear view areas. C. What Remained the Same. o The standards for clear view areas in this chapter are identical to the current standards. No substantive changes were made. D. Rationale for Changes. These changes are proposed to provide clarity and ease of readership, and to ensure that clear view prohibitions apply to a variety of obstructions, not just fences or posts.
