1 Job Announcement Promise Program Health Intern Opens: Monday, October 31, 2022 Closes: Open until filled Will begin reviewing applications on 11/7/2022 Status: Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week) Non-Exempt, Non-Benefitted Hourly Wage: $19.00 Under the direction of the Promise Program Manager, the Promise Program Intern performs tasks related to one or more of the three areas of focus: Health and Safety, Education, and Economic Wellbeing. The Promise Program Intern is responsible for facilitating meetings, engaging stakeholders, and tracking data as necessary for the program. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Meet performance standards established with the employee’s manager. 2. Support afterschool programs in Millcreek. 3. Chair the Promise Health Committee within Collective Impact and Results-Based Accountability frameworks. 4. Manage volunteers for direct-service programming and other events. 5. Manage action items put forth by the Health Committee. 6. Continue work with Health in All Policies grant from Get Healthy Utah. 7. Support Promise events and other city events (these events sometimes occur on evenings and weekends). 8. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education and Experience: a. Must have Associate’s Degree or equivalent (two years of college completed). b. Service-oriented experience is a plus. 2. Special Qualifications: a. Valid Utah Class D Driver’s License required. b. Passion for wanting to improve the lives of others. c. Community minded. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: a. Knowledge of telephone switchboard operations and procedures, advanced public relations, and telephone and interpersonal communication etiquette. b. Knowledge of general office maintenance and practices and operation of standard office equipment. c. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing high level customer service. d. Ability to use tact and diplomacy under stressful situations associated with public interaction. e. Ability to make decisions and use good judgement. f. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, other departments, and the public. g. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. h. Ability to operate a personal computer and competency using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). i. Competency in communicating clearly and concisely with City personnel and the public both orally and in writing. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Light physical effort and usually comfortable working positions. Local travel may be required to run errands, etc. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5.
