1 Job Announcement Promise Program Intern Opens: November 1, 2021 Closes: Open unƟl filled Will begin reviewing applicaƟons on 11/29/2021 Status: Part‐Time (up to 15 hours per week) Non‐benefiƩed Non‐exempt Hourly Wage: $18.00 Under the direcƟon of the Promise Program Manager, the Promise Program Intern performs tasks related to one or more of the three areas of focus: Health and Safety, EducaƟon, and Economic Wellbeing. The Promise Program Intern is responsible for facilitaƟng meeƟngs, engaging stakeholders, and tracking data as necessary for the program. Meet performance standards established with the employee’s manager. 2. Work with the Program Manager to provide high‐quality programs for the residents of Millcreek 3. Chair a Promise commiƩee within CollecƟve Impact and Results‐Based Accountability frameworks 4. Manage volunteers for direct‐service programming and other events 5. Manage acƟon items put forth by the commiƩee 6. Provide youth programming in exisƟng aŌerschool programs (for example, prevenƟon curriculum, tutoring, digital literacy, financial literacy, etc.) 7. Perform other duƟes as assigned. POSITION(S) SUPERVISED This posiƟon has no supervisory responsibiliƟes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. EducaƟon and Experience: a. Must have Associate’s Degree or equivalent (two years of college completed) b. Service‐oriented experience is a plus 2. Special QualificaƟons: a. Valid Utah Class D Driver’s License required. b. Passion for wanƟng to improve the lives of others c. Community minded ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 3. Knowledge, Skills and AbiliƟes: a. Knowledge of telephone switchboard operaƟons and procedures, advanced public relaƟons, and telephone and interpersonal communicaƟon eƟqueƩe. b. Knowledge of general office maintenance and pracƟces and operaƟon of standard office equipment. c. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing high level customer service. d. Ability to use tact and diplomacy under stressful situaƟons associated with public interacƟon. e. Ability to make decisions and use good judgement. f. Ability to establish and maintain effecƟve working relaƟonships with employees, contractors, other departments and the public. g. Ability to follow wriƩen and oral instrucƟons. h. Ability to operate a personal computer and competency using MicrosoŌ Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). i. Competency in communicaƟng clearly and concisely with City personnel and the public both orally and in wriƟng. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Light physical effort and usually comfortable working posiƟons. Local travel may be required to run errands, etc. 2. Physical: Primary funcƟons require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office seƫng; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of Ɵme; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to liŌ, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repeƟƟve hand movement and fine coordinaƟon including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange informaƟon. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correcƟon 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correcƟon. 5.
