MOUNT OLYMPUS COMMUNITY COUNCIL Churchill Jr. High School May 2, 2017 - 7:00 PM Pledge of Allegiance Introduction of Council Members In Attendance: David Baird, Joan Haven, Chuck Pruitt, Kumar Shah, Pasu Pasupathi, Ken Smith, John Knoblock (minutes), Richard Williamson, Bill Blatter, and Joy Goddard UPD Officer Prescott reported that the prescription drug take backing Millcreek was very successful. Drugs can also be dropped off at any UPD office and ‘sharps’ can be dropped off at major hospitals. April was relatively quiet for crime in our area and they are still doing random speeding enforcement. UFA Rob Ayers reported that they are still working on the wild fire plan and that we should log volunteer hours that can be matching contributions. Medical and fire calls were normal in April. The new UFA management is doing well while coping with Draper leaving UFA and associated personnel moves. Wildfire response capabilities are very good with aircraft available. Joy commented that we still would like to see a neighborhood evacuation plan established. John Janson- Planning Consultant: John reported that the MD zone was approved and the commercial zones are in progress. For Conditional Uses he is setting standards that the conditions are applied to be enforceable. John was not sure about the specifics for Short Term Rental standards. Joan asked about rerouting Wasatch Blvd for development of the property across from Olympus Hills Plaza. John responded that it would be a legislative process associated with rezoning of the property. Community Input- Emily Chipping asked what the path forward is for Fortuna Park and if we could set a budget item and apply for County or Federal grants. John will follow-up to verify if the park is under SLCo or Millcreek ownership now. Kyle Taft- asked if we can have the parcels along Wasatch Blvd at be transferred from UDOT to Millcreek ownership. John will follow-up with UDOT’s right of way department. We plan to do the Wasatch Boulevard beautification project on August 12 for the Community Volunteer project. David Baird- reported that code compliance for a house on Parkview will go to a Land Use Hearing Officer in Millcreek rather than being reviewed by SLCo planning, who approved the project. Bill Blatter- attended City Council Person Cheri Jackson’s Activities Committee. The plan is to have one movie night at Eastwood Elementary and one at Olympus Hills Plaza. ---PAGE BREAK--- Richard Williamson- reported that the Resident Parking program near Grandeur Peak Trailhead was approved but a last minute change added a $2.50 temporary permit fee for vehicles in excess of the normal two guest permits. David will discuss the specifics with Mayor Silvestrini. Meeting Adjourned at 9:00 pm
