The feasibility study required by state law to leave the Municipal Services District ("MSD") will be ready before the end of this month and posted on the City's website at http://millcreek.utah.gov/notices/. The City Council will set a public hearing to take place most likely during the week of May 22nd. After considering the study and public input, the Council will determine whether to leave the MSD. In the meantime, the City Council has invited representatives of many departments in the County to discuss the services they provide. Flood control, stormwater engineering, public works, animal services, and parks and recreation have been some of the highlights. Mayor Silvestrini has been meeting regularly with county officials to ensure the continued delivery of good services to Millcreek. He has been exploring the possibilities of interlocal agreements directly with the County for street maintenance, snowplowing, animal services, parks, and courts. The City is also considering options for starting up in-house departments, including planning and economic development. As always, Millcreek intends to continue to utilize the services of the Unified Police Department and the Unified Fire Authority. The state tax commission and UDOT have been providing more accurate and detailed estimates concerning Millcreek's actual tax revenues.The Mayor is working on a tentative budget for 2017-18, which should be presented to the Council by the end of April. Stay tuned. Control Your Stormwater Storm drains flow directly into our streams--and thus impact the homes and recreation of many Millcreek residents. Stormwater LID Community Council Study Millcreek has conducted a study pursuant to state law, Utah Code Section 10-8- 2, so that distributions can be made to our four Community Councils. The results of the study can be found here. The City Council will hold a hearing on May 1, 2017 to discuss and consider a resolution to appropriate the funds. Come Cheer the Salt Lake Marathoners! No zoning boundaries will be changed. The C-1, C-2, and C-3 zones are being updated and revised to reflect State Law and past issues. The proposed changes can be reviewed on the City's web site under 'Pending Zoning Amendment Proposals': amendment-proposals. This zone has not been used in Millcreek and therefore is not needed to conduct City business. The purpose of adding these new definitions is to further define use categories proposed as part of general ordinance updates and reformatting, occurring at this time. Planner: John Janson 30388 - A Public Hearing will be held to consider amendments to the Millcreek Code of Ordinances Section 19.82.020 - Definitions- with respect to the definition of 'Existing Billboards ' to change the date used to determine existing billboards from 'prior to May 18, 2004,' to 'existing as of December 27, 2013,' and limiting the boundaries for existing billboards to the boundaries of the city as it was incorporated and Section 19.82.185B - Off-premises signs- Cap on Number of Off-Premises Signs to change the date used to limit the number of off-premise signs from May 18, 2004, to December 27, 2013 and limiting the boundaries for the number of off- premise signs to the boundaries of the city as it was incorporated.
