January 2025 Millcreek Together Code Update I 18.58 Temporary Uses and Structures Summary Sheet Chapter 18.58 Temporary Uses and Structures Summary A. Purpose. The purpose of this Chapter is to provide allowance for temporary uses and structures in Millcreek in an orderly way that minimizes impacts. This is a new chapter to clarify standards for temporary uses and structures that are not well defined in the current zoning code. B. What Changed. o This is a new chapter to the Millcreek Zoning Code which is compiling standards found throughout the existing code o Added standards for numerous temporary uses such as constructions trailers, food trucks, and farmers markets. o Added timeframes for each type of temporary use. o New standards outlined for temporary signage. o Details site standards for each type of temporary use. o Outlines permit requirements and processes for temporary uses. C. Rationale for Changes. The current Millcreek zoning code does not have a specific section outlining standards for temporary uses and structure. There are references to specific temporary uses in various chapters, but these standards frequently conflict with other provisions and regulations. Creating standards in one place will make it easier for residents, business owners, and staff to administer and understand rules for temporary uses and structures in a more consistent manner.
