See below for Cutest Couple Contest. Entries due 2/12. NEWS 2000 East Project Joins List of Roadway Improvements MILLCREEK. The Millcreek Public Works Department has been working on roadway improvements across the City. Projects are completed on several major collector and arterial roads, e.g., 3900 S from 2700 E to I-215, and Highland Drive and 1300 E from City border to border. Others, like 900 E between 3900 and 4500 S, will begin later this year. As projects on these major roads near completion, we can begin working on the minor collector roads throughout the City. Among the minor collectors that will be improved next is 2000 East. We had a ---PAGE BREAK--- kickoff meeting earlier this week for the project, which will address safety and storm water concerns on 2000 East from Siggard Avenue to Millcreek's northern boundary with Salt Lake City. A state appropriation of approximately $7 million secured through the City's lobbying efforts will allow for this major road project to be completed with minimal cost to City residents. Last August a major rainstorm caused flooding in the vicinity of 3300 South and 2000 East due to the lack of curb, gutter and appropriate storm drains to direct the water along 2000 East. Improvements to 2000 East have been on the Canyon Rim Citizens Association's list of requested capital improvement projects for a few years. The project will include curb, gutter and sidewalk, new pavement surface and piping of the exposed ditches resulting in a much safer and more attractive street that will last for years. We are happy that we will be able to begin this project to connect with the improvements Salt Lake City recently made along the north end of 2000 East. Engineering and right of way work is underway. State of the art drone surveying will be utilized to provide our engineers with the most accurate information. The storm drain work is the initial construction work to be completed it must be done between October 15 and March 15 when the ditches are not in use. Other repairs will follow. We are anticipating completion of the entire project by the end of 2023. TONIGHT ---PAGE BREAK--- join by Zoom id 899 2014 0101 Scouting for Food Kicks Off Event at Mill Creek Elementary MILLCREEK.
