1 Job Announcement Adventure Hub Crew Member Opens: Friday, November 8, 2024 Closes: Open until filled Status: Part-time, Seasonal (Up to 20 hours a week) Non-Exempt, Non-Benefitted Hourly Wage: $14.00/hour Under the direction of the Adventure Hub Lead, the Adventure Hub Crew Member provides retail recreation services and facility access for the public in the activities of ice skating, roller skating, splash pad, sport climbing, and other forms of active and passive entertainment at Millcreek Common. This position carries out all aspects of day-to-day operations at Millcreek Common, provides customer service, and facilitates contractor performance of their services. POSITION(S) SUPERVISED: None, except if acting in the role of Adventure Hub Lead ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Carry out Adventure Hub operations for retail/rental of skates and other recreation equipment. This includes equipment maintenance and sales transactions. 2. Handle credit card, digital, and cash monetary transactions. 3. Assist in the management of Adventure Hub day-to-day and event inventory, possibly supported by use of asset management digital platforms. 4. Assist in enforcing polices for access to and conduct while using the Plaza facilities. 5. Carry out delivery of passive entertainment and services of the Plaza (e.g. WiFi access, ambient music, outdoor furniture, table games, etc.) 6. Maintain good relations and communication with the general public. 7. Respond to/resolve the great majority of customer and operational issues before escalating to management. 8. Facilitate adequate performance of day-to-day contractor-provided services. 9. Assist with Millcreek Common venue tours for client partnerships and planning purposes. 10. Experience: a. Must be at least 16 years of age. b. Prior work experience for an employer is preferred. c. Prior customer-facing work experience is preferred. 2. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: a. Attributes for providing good customer service. b. Friendly interaction with the public, even under stressful situations. c. Ability to use good judgment. d. Ability to make and keep good working relationships with co-workers. e. Ability to operate a personal computer, tablet, and/or sales transaction devices. Competency using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). f. Competency in communicating clearly in English with City personnel and the public, both verbally and sometimes in writing. g. Ability to follow instructions well. h. Ability to perform well as part of a team. Demonstrate an ability to share workload with co-workers. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed in a mixed environment of standard office and outdoors on-venue at Millcreek Common. Employee should be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and handle more weight with the assistance of logistics equipment. The nature of community recreation and events requires this position to work outside of traditional work-week hours and days. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in transitional settings between sitting at a workstation, standing at the customer service counter, and being on foot outdoors in the recreation space. Other physical requirements include stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting, and lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling light to moderate amounts of weight. Employee must be able to effectively communicate to exchange information and to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of a computer keyboard and mouse. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5. Attendance: The Granite Credit Union Adventure Hub, located on Millcreek Common, is the employee’s headquarters and primary location for work. Due to the nature of this position, employee must be available to work afternoon/evening shifts, weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
