Olympus Community Council Mon., 11/4/24, 6pm Churchill Jr. High 3450 E Oakview Millcreek Community Council Tues., 11/5/24, 6:30pm Granite Credit Union Adventure Hub NEWS Council Hears Wellbeing Survey Results MILLCREEK. Millcreek is one of 49 cities who participated in the Utah Wellbeing Survey Project conducted by the Utah State University in 2024. This project is designed to assess the wellbeing and local perspectives of city residents and to provide information to city leaders to inform general planning processes. Millcreek advertised the survey for residents largely through social media and newsletters. All city residents age 18+ were encouraged to take ---PAGE BREAK--- 1354 E. Chambers Ave the online survey. Survey participants were asked about their overall personal wellbeing and overall community wellbeing in Millcreek. These wellbeing indicators were both measured on a 5- point scale from poor to excellent The average personal wellbeing score in Millcreek was 4.23 with 83% of respondents indicating their wellbeing at a 4 or 5 on the 5-point scale. The average score for community wellbeing in Millcreek was 3.82 with 68% of respondents indicating community wellbeing at a 4 or 5 on the 5-point scale. ZIP code 84124 had statistically higher overall personal and community wellbeing scores than ZIP code 84106. ---PAGE BREAK--- Comparing Wellbeing Across Utah Cities The Utah League of Cities and Towns clusters cities and towns into five different categories based on size and growth rates. We utilize these clusters in our analysis. Millcreek is classified as a City of the 1st and 2nd Class. Some cities may fit within more than one cluster. Within the more Urban city cluster, Millcreek was well above the average overall personal wellbeing score and above the average overall community wellbeing score. ---PAGE BREAK--- These graphs are just two of many indicating Wellbeing in Millcreek as compiled through the USU Survey. The entire report is available on the Utah State University website HERE. Although there were not as many respondents as hoped, we thank the USU staff who collected and prepared the information that was presented to the city council. This overview will be helpful in conversations about the direction of our city. ---PAGE BREAK--- It is easy to vote, be sure your voice is heard! The Salt Lake County Clerk's Office has set up an official Ballot Drop Box on Millcreek Common near the flagpoles (1354 E Chambers Ave) no need to come inside. Ballots can be dropped until 8pm on election day. For additional information on this year's general election, visit the Salt Lake County Clerk's Election Division website. ---PAGE BREAK--- MILLCREEK. Governor Diedre Henderson, pictured here (left to right) with Andrew Gruber, Executive Director of the Wasatch Front Regional Council, Mayor Jeff Silvestrini, Mike Winder, Millcreek City Manager, and Francis Lilly, Millcreek Assistant City Manager, visited Millcreek City Hall, had a tour of the building, and over lunch, discussed Millcreek's innovative approach to growth and development.
