See agenda below City Council Monday, 2/26/18 TBA NEWS Parleys Canyon Interchange is Due for Updated Design MILLCREEK. UDOT has undertaken a study of changes needed to the interchange at the bottom of Parleys Canyon. The area has higher-than- average accident rates, and it gets extremely congested during commutes. Millcreek residents know that it's an important part of our access to downtown and the University, as well as Summit County. The giant trucks that (scare us as) we merge with at the I-215 / I-80 westbound intersection are evidence of the national traffic that also uses the Parleys Canyon interchange. These include adding alternate travel modes (like buses), increasing capacity (more lanes), and/or using other methods of "transportation demand management." UDOT might also choose to do nothing at all. The planners want to hear from YOU, as the choices will be guided by input from the public. There will be a presentation at the City Council meeting on February 26th at 5 PM. There'll be another at the County Council's meeting on Feb. 27th at 3:30 PM, and a public open house on March 6th from 4-7 PM at Highland High. Click here for more information on the Parleys Interchange project. You can also add your comments here. The public comment period closes on March 30th, so move fast! To make more informed comments, you may want to review the strategies currently proposed to improve Foothill Drive. Click here for a copy of the Foothill Drive Implementation Strategy. At the northern end of the Parleys Canyon Interchange, those plans will likely affect the planning decisions.
