Would you like to be part of Utah’s newest city and award-winning economic development team? Millcreek’s Economic Development Department is looking for an incredible intern to perform tasks such as event preparation, social media management and marketing, business recruiting, and administrative tasks. The intern will have opportunities to meet and network with local business owners, developers, and local government agencies. Provide staff support to the Millcreek Business Council such as event preparation, recruiting Business Council Committee members, social media management and marketing, and administrative tasks as needed. 2. Schedule and organize meetings for the Economic Development Department. 3. Manage volunteers for Millcreek Business Council events. 4. Attend meetings, prepare letters, reports, memos, minutes, or other general correspondence. 5. Assist with communication outreach to area business leaders as needed. 6. Meet performance standards established with the employee’s manager. 7. Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION(S) SUPERVISED This position has no employee supervisory responsibilities but will help oversee volunteer committees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education and Experience: a. Must have Associate’s Degree or equivalent (two years of college completed) and be currently enrolled in college in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree b. Marketing and administrative experience is a plus. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Light physical effort and usually comfortable working positions. Local travel may be required to run errands, etc. 2. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 3. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction 4. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 5. Attendance: Employee is expected to work 10-20 hours per week as coordinated with supervisor (flexibility with class schedules may be provided). 2. Special Qualifications: a. Valid Utah Class D Driver’s License required. 3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: a. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft products; b. Skill in word processing, spreadsheets, office machine usage and general computer operation; c. Ability to use social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; d. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing; e. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information; f. Excellent organizational skills; g. Ability to interact with elected officials, the public, City stakeholders, and administrative staff in a profes- sional manner; h. Ability to answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner; i. Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and to act resourcefully under varying conditions; j.
