Millcreek is launching a midweek farmers’ market at Millcreek Common from July 10 to September 25. The Millcreek Farmers’ Market will be held at the Common on Wednesday evenings, offering the community a chance to buy locally and connect with farmers and producers. The city is seeking applications from local farmers, food producers, artisans making handmade crafts, and nonprofit organizations to participate. Millcreek Farmers’ Market vendors must be directly responsible for raising, making, or producing the products sold here. No reselling or imported goods will be permitted. Customers will enjoy a casual shopping experience with food demonstrations, a veggie valet, gardening tips, and other activities curated for the Millcreek Farmers’ Market. Also available will be Millcreek's permanent playful amenities: roller skating, rock climbing, a splash pad, and an array of dining options, including Millcreek Pizza House, Noodlehead, and the Public Market. During community planning sessions, the single most requested event was a farmers market. The most successful markets in the country are supported by and connected to the community in which they take place. In that spirit, the city has posted a request for volunteers to support initiatives at the Millcreek Farmers’ Market that include food accessibility, vendor recruitment, and sustainability initiatives.
