Proof of rabies vaccination Why do I need to license my dog? 1. It’s the Law. Chapter 7.07 of the Middleton Code of Ordinances re- quires that all dogs five-months of age and older be licensed. 2. Licensing helps prevent against rabies outbreaks. 3. Licensing your pet increases the chances that you will re reunited with your pet in the unfortunate event he or she is lost.
