VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH January 2015 Lynn Brittingham Lynn Brittingham was recognized by Mayor Jon Nehring as the community Volunteer of the Month for January 2015. Lynn is the director of Kloz 4 Kidz in Marysville, a local non-profit organization that provides free clothing to school-age children in need. Lynn taught in the Marysville School District for 31 years and has seen firsthand the positive relationship between feeling good about oneself and the ability to learn. Through scheduled appointments, Kloz 4 Kidz allows families of school-age children to receive up to 30 items of new and gently used clothing and shoes every four months. Lynn has been actively involved with Kloz 4 Kid for more than six years and has served as the director since January 2012. As director she oversees a board of 10 people, maintaining and overseeing all aspects of the organization. Each month Lynn dedicates around 40-50 hours to the organization. Kloz 4 Kidz has served more than 4,000 children during Lynn’s time on a budget of $1,300. Lynn is the representative of Kloz 4 Kidz at community events, a spokesperson for the organization and sends out reminders to families for scheduled appointments. She is regarded as being thoughtful of others that she works with and is known as being creative and efficient in her work. In addition to her work at Kloz 4 Kidz Lynn is also involved in other activities at her church and within our community.
