Wright, who has served nearly 20 years on the City Council, has served on NLC Committees in other capacities. As a member of the FAIR Committee, she will play a key role in shaping the NLC’s policy positions, NLC officials say. Alongside this role, she will also help advocate on behalf of cities and towns on Capitol Hill, with the Administration, and at home. She serves on numerous boards and committees including the state Board of Health, Snohomish Health Board, Fire District Board, county Development Policy Advisory Board and City’s Public Safety Committee and LEOFF 1 Board. Wright attained her Advanced Municipal Leadership Certification from the Association of Washington Cities in 2011. She and her husband, Gary, own Coldwell Banker Gary Wright Realty. Wright is a former Mayor Pro Tem, Planning Commissioner and Past President of the Snohomish County Association of Cities and Towns. The National League of Cities is the nation’s most long-running and largest organization devoted to strengthening the cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance. The NLC is a resource and advocate for 19,000 cities, towns, and villages, representing more than 218 million Americans.
