The Pride of Marysville Neighborhood Improve- ment Awards recognize neighbors and busi- nesses who take pride in their property in ways that enhance the appearance of the commu- nity. Award winners are drawn from a pool of nominees selected by the community through a nominati on process, then are chosen by a Committ ee consisti ng of a City Councilmember, Planning Commissioner, Parks and Recreati on representati ve and two citi zens selected at large. The Mayor names his winning selecti on from the same pool of candidates. There are four award categories: (Selecti ng more than one invalidates the nominati on) ❑ Best Home/Pride of the Neighborhood - Homes consistently well-kept with well- manicured lawns and colorful landscapes, or enhanced with new paint, landscaping or other signifi cant aestheti c improvements. ❑ Best Block/Neighborhood - Based on gen- eral/neighborhood entrance/gateway appeal and improvements made. ❑ Best Business - Business sites with most curb appeal that have att racti ve landscaping, well- kept appearance, att racti ve facade, and are assets to their neighborhoods. ❑ Mayor’s Choice – James Comeford Award focused on improvements in Downtown/ Waterfront district.
