During Boe’s 13 years as Branch Manager at HomeStreet Bank, she has represented the essence of what it means to be a volunteer, Nehring said. “Marilyn has distinguished herself as a real mover in our community, and donated her time and HomeStreet Bank’s resources to a variety of worthy causes and initiatives around Marysville,” said Nehring at the Oct. 22 City Council meeting where Boe was honored. Boe’s involvement started with a get-acquainted chat over coffee a decade ago with Parks and Recreation Director Jim Ballew to see how HomeStreet Bank could help with park needs. Their meeting resulted in a donation toward construction of Marysville’s SkatePark which opened in 2002, and the wheels for giving haven’t stopped turning since. Among the ways that Boe gives back to the community: Serves on the Diversity Advisory Committee representing business and the banking community.
