The award honored Langdon and her committee for developing the organization’s Internship Program launched in 2010, and aimed at training aspiring finance students for jobs with municipal governments, state agencies and other special districts. “Internships are our small way of teaching students the intricacies, great opportunities and rewards of working, and getting them excited about their future,” says WFOA President Marilou Moore and Financial Analyst with the City of Everett. Langdon has served as City Finance Director for more than 12 years, and is a WFOA past- president. She thanked the association for the honor, and credited all members of the Internship Program Committee for having a hand in the program’s success. “Our goal is to connect with students to help them get internships that will provide them with training and skills needed for a permanent job in government finance,” Langdon says. “The program works directly with students and employers by identifying specific jobs and skills, and designing appropriate training programs.”
