Mayor Jon Nehring Media Advisory May 13, 2016 Contact: Leah Tocco, 360‐363‐8091 or [EMAIL REDACTED] Barbara Arocha honored as April’s Volunteer of the Month Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring presented Barbara Arocha with the city’s Volunteer of the Month award Monday night, April 25. Barbara has been a longtime volunteer with the Marysville School District having held numerous PTSA offices at both the school and district levels over the years. Barbara has continually demonstrated a willingness to help where needed. She has served as an editor and evaluator for Senior Projects at Arts and Technology High School, continuing to serve after her daughter graduated. Barbara has volunteered her time and resources to transporting students for Operation School Bell and supporting community trips for students with special needs. In addition to her work with the school district Barbara serves on the Board of Directors for Marysville Community Lunch, an organization working to feed homeless and food‐insecure people in Snohomish County. She is in charge of purchasing and co‐chairs the team that serves meals every Monday.
