March 2016 Clean Sweep Week and Shred-A-Thon set for April Stockpile your shreddables and dust off your work gloves: The city’s popular Clean Sweep Week returns this April. Events will run the week of April 10 – 16, culminating with the popular community Shred-A-Thon at Marysville City Hall. You’re invited to bring up to six legal file-size boxes of material for free shredding from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 16. More events will be announced on the city’s news flash and events calendar: www.marysvillewa.gov Watch Mayor’s State of the City address online, on TV Find out about the city’s 2015 accomplishments and learn about priorities for 2016 by viewing Mayor Jon Nehring’s annual State of the City address. City viewers can tune into the address by watching channel 21 (Xfinity) or channel 25 (Frontier) daily at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. No cable access? Review City budget, spending information with new website How much does Marysville spend on parks and recreation activities? Who is our biggest vendor? If you’ve ever wondered where your tax dollars go, now there’s an easy way to find out – without scanning pages and pages of budget documents. On Jan. 28, we launched two new transparent spending websites: Open Budget and Open Checkbook. The new sites allow you to click on individual departments and budget items, and drill down into minute details. You can even find information on the city’s upcoming transportation projects. Designed for those 50 and older, the dances take place the third Tuesday of each month, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at the Marysville Opera House. Participants pay $3 drop-in fee.
