Mayor Jon Nehring Media Advisory May 24, 2016 Contact: Leah Tocco, 360‐363‐8091 or [EMAIL REDACTED] Comcast honored as May’s Volunteer of the Month Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring presented Comcast with the city’s Volunteer of the Month award Monday night, May 23. Comcast dedicated their efforts for their annual Comcast Cares Day to the youth in our community by refurbishing and updating the Marysville Boys and Girls Club. Their volunteers came out in force on Saturday, April 30th showing up with over 300 volunteers. They were well organized and eager to assist, completing many tasks throughout the day. Their volunteers added exterior lighting around the building to help improve visibility, painted walls and added a custom Boys and Girls Club sign on the exterior of the building and updated flooring inside the building to name a few of the tasks completed. The City of Marysville sends a special thank you to Debbie Beaman with Comcast for her efforts in organizing this tremendous event. Thank you to all the Comcast volunteers for the impact they have made to not only the building, but the youth and families that use the Boys and Girls Club.
