The Liberty County Recycling Program operates under the direction of the Liberty County Solid Waste Authority. LCSWA promotes recycling through drop-off sites for residential customers and collection for commercial busi- nesses. Recycling Program ---PAGE BREAK--- Your business can recycle too! The Liberty County Solid Waste Recy- cling Program makes it simple for your business to recycle paper products, plas- tic bottles and aluminum cans. Collection containers (exterior polycarts) will be provided and emptied weekly at no charge. The Recycling Program Coordi- nator will meet with you to determine the collection schedule. Just let us know if your business is interested in recy- cling. Recycling Save Money Setting up a recycling program at your business can save money by reducing the dumpster size for garbage collection and by reducing the frequency of gar- bage pick-ups. The Liberty County Solid Waste Authori- ty will provide your business with an 8- yard dumpster for the collection of card- board for a small fee. Card- board dumpsters are emptied weekly. Good for Business Good for the Environment It Just Makes Sense Hazardous household items (light bulbs, batteries, ink cartridges, motor oil, etc.) are collected quarterly at the Keep Liberty Beautiful Recycle It! Recycling reduces pollution to air, water and soil; protects habitat; creates jobs; conserves natural resources; saves ener- gy; and helps sustain our environment. What Items Are Collected Mixed Paper, Newspaper & Magazines Recyclable paper collected as mixed paper covers a broad range of paper items. This catego- ry includes regular paper, junk mail, paperboard items (like cereal boxes). These items are not acceptable for recycling: paper with glitter, crayon or oil based paint, tissue pa- per, food contaminated paper, paper towels and napkins, paper plates and cups, waxy paper, plastic coated paper, refrigerator or freezer boxes, and ream wrappers.
