Keep Liberty Beautiful is an award-winning program established in 1983. Our mission: KLB is community education, volunteer action program with these focus areas: *litter prevention and eradication *recycling and waste reduction *community beautification and environmental improvement *stormwater pollution education and water conservation KLB volunteers are the heart of this successful program. Over 4,000 volunteers participated in program activities throughout the year. Volunteer involvement helps promote a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive Liberty County as well as a more involved and educated public. Objective Of The Board To advise on policy, to recommend specific programs, and to actively participate in the implementation of the programs. To engage individuals in our community in taking greater responsibility for improving their community environment. To work toward accomplishing the mission of the organization. Board Member Qualifications Possess a genuine interest in the program’s mission. Have a commitment to improving our community in all program focus areas. Display a willingness to act as a leader in the community for this program focus. ---PAGE BREAK--- Be able to serve a three-year term with eligibility for additional terms by reappointment. Responsibilities Participate in meetings (least 9, 3 unexcused) Required leadership roles (GAC, Earth Day, RA) 40 hours minimum with KLB activities Be a positive voice for KLB Mission in the Community KLB Needs your help for litter cleanups… To help with recycling education… To improvement projects in our community… To waterway cleanups… To recycling collections… and help our neighborhoods to action… All that allows KLB and with your support make a difference We want people to think of Liberty County like this: clean, green, and Beautiful…
