FLAG DISPLAY POLICY 1 Adopted 9/4/2001 Flags displayed in the City of Lewiston shall adhere to the standards set forth in U.S. Code, Title 36 Ch.10 sections 174-175. The City Clerk’s office shall maintain an accurate inventory of City-maintained flags, as well as maintain a copy of “Flag Etiquette and Standards.” These standards shall also be distributed and displayed for all staff responsible for flag maintenance. Departments responsible for flag maintenance shall report flag changes to flag locations or configurations to the City Clerk. Upon declaration by the President of the United States, or Governor, the City Clerk shall coordinate with departments the lowering of City flags to half- staff. These departments shall be held responsible for the following flag locations in accordance with the details specified below: PUBLIC WORKS: Flag is fixed, but lowered upon request of the City Clerk Davis Cemetery (U.S. Flag) Hulett Square (U.S. Flag) * Kennedy Park (U.S. Flag) Leeds Park (U.S. Flag) Lincoln Circle (U.S. Flag) L.P.W.
