CITY OF LEWISTON, MAINE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS OAK ST SEPARATION PHASE III BID 2012-005 DUE DATE: MARCH 8, 2012 @ 2:00 p.m. Sealed proposals, in envelopes plainly marked: “OAK ST SEPARATION PHASE III” and addressed to: Norman J. Beauparlant, Director of Budget/Purchasing, City Hall, 27 Pine St., Lewiston, Maine 04240, will be received at the Purchasing Office until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at which time and place bids will be opened and read aloud. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on February 28, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lewiston Public Works Facility, 103 Adams Avenue, Lewiston, in the Public Works Conference Room. All Prospective Bidders are required to attend. General Description of Work: The work shall be the complete and satisfactory furnishing and installing of approximately 105 LF of 8 inch dia. HDPE; 180 LF of 12 inch dia. HDPE; 295 LF of 15 inch dia. HDPE underdrain; 45 LF of 18 inch dia. HDPE; 50 LF of 15 inch dia. PVC sewer, 300 LF of 18 inch dia. PVC sewer; 48 LF of 42 inch dia. RCP; 420 LF of 48 inch dia. RCP; five RCP tee base manholes, 7 each of 4' dia. Catch basins; 2 each of 8' dia. Manholes; 1 each of 4' dia. sewer Manholes; 200 LF of 4 inch DI water main, 620 LF of 8 inch DI water main, 19 water services, 500 CY of rock excavation, trench paving; and all other incidental work as necessary to satisfactorily complete the project as outlined or implied in the Plans/Specifications All materials and labor required to complete the work will be supplied by the Contractor unless otherwise provided for in the Supplemental Specifications. The cost and expense of all the necessary labor, tools and equipment required to complete the work shall be included in the prices stated in the Proposal. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Lewiston or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company in the amount equal to five percent of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bid may be withdrawn for at least 60 days after receipt of bids unless released by the City of Lewiston. All inquiries concerning the request for proposal shall be directed to: Norman J.
