Furnishing and mounting of this equipment shall be the responsibility of the chassis bidder. The desired equipment will be used by the Public Works Department, Water and Sewer Division for hauling materials on and off road use. The following specification shall be the minimum requirements and the bid shall be of the manufacture’s latest model and design. The bid item must also comply with all applicable Federal and Maine laws. All items appearing in the bidders regular published specifications are assumed to be included in the bidder’s proposal. The City of Lewiston reserves the right to reject all bids when deemed to be in the best interest of the City, and to waive any minor discrepancy or technicality in the bid specifications. SERVICE CENTER The Public Works Department must be satisfied that the chassis and equipment dealer maintains adequate service and parts facilities, with shop and field services performed by factory trained mechanics with 75 mile radius of the 103 Adams Avenue, Lewiston, Maine facility. DUMP BODY The new chassis is going to be fitted with the existing Everest Model MR14 D 42/54 Dump body on hand at Public Works. The Public Works Municipal Garage will remove and deliver the dump body to the winning bidder’s equipment installer’s location the price will include everything needed to complete the installation of the body and accessories on the new chassis. To include but not limited to the following items: NEW HYDRAULICS • New transmission mounted hot shot PTO and Hydraulic Pump • New hydraulic tank to be frame mounted at a location to be determined • Site glass and low hydraulic oil shut down w/override mounted in the cab • New lifting cylinder, cylinder mount, hardware and hydraulic lines.
