DIVISION 10 PROJECT COORDINATION Page 10-1 This project is a result of the City of Lewiston’s decision to move the Senior Citizen Organization from the Multi Purpose Building to the Armory. Due to the aggressive schedule to complete the installation of the elevator for the new Senior Center at the Armory, and the length of time it takes for delivery of an elevator, the City has chosen to purchase the elevator before acquiring design plans and a General Contractor to build the elevator enclosure. The City will be issuing a Request for Proposal in the next week to provide a Design Build Project to build a new Elevator Enclosure. Proposals for the Design Build Elevator Enclosure Project will be due to the City by March 22, 2012 April 12, 2012. The enclosure will be located adjacent to the Armory’s stairway on the corner of Vale and Central Avenue. ADD: Once the Armory Elevator Contract has been awarded by the City, the Design/ Build Contractors interested in submitting a proposal shall coordinate with the selected elevator supplier to determine the final details required to complete the Armory Elevator Enclosure Project Request for Proposal. The Design/ Build Contractors shall be notified by the City of the awarded bid amount and the Contractor shall include the cost of the elevator and installation with their proposal. The elevator system and installation will be the responsibility of the proposing Design/ Build Contractor, which will coordinate the storage, installation, testing and licensing of the new elevator. The seismic design required must meet the State of Maine’s Building Code requirements. The City of Lewiston is an EOE.
