Eliot, U.S. Educator (1834-1926) Memorial Book Donations 200 Lisbon Street Lewiston, Maine 04240 Donations made to the Lewiston Public Library’s Memorial Book Fund will honor friends and loved ones for many years to come. • Special books are purchased to enhance the Library’s collection. • Librarians will choose an appropriate title in an area needed by the Library or in a subject specified by the donor. • An acknowledgement of the gift will be sent. • Memorial Book Fund donations are tax deductible. • Each memorial book receives a special bookplate. Tax-deductible do nations made to the Lewiston Public Library’s Book Fund will allow the Library to purchase a special book for the collection. When the book is processed it is affixed with a bookplate noting the name of the person being memori alized/honored and the name(s) of the donor. A notification of the gift is also sent. Donors may have the librarian choose an ap propriate title needed by the Library or they may indicate a particular subject area or genre that they would prefer. The minimum sug gested donation for memorial books is $25. Memorial Book Fund plaque Memorial Book Fund gifts of $100 or more are further recognized by placing the names of those memorialized on a Memorial Book Fund plaque in the Library. Names are placed on the plaque either for individual large dona tions or for those that accrue a total of $100 or more in multiple smaller donations. Other Memorial Options The Lewiston Public Library Endowment Fund provides another avenue for larger me morial gifts. Individual named funds within the LPL Endowment Fund can be established for a minimum donation of $1,000. For de tails, please contact the Library Director at 513-3119.
